Contemporary Art

Contemporary artists keep the art market alive and also our gallery. Presenting established talent together with the modern masters is exciting and shows how the world around us is constantly evolving. New media is making our world smaller and it can be sensed in many ways. We are proud to work with our living artists and aim to present them to an international public. in addition, we are always looking for new talent.

Sean Henry

Sean Henry

Sean Henry was born in England in 1965. His sculptures may seem lifelike, but they are not. They are modelled in clay and fired or cast in bronze, and they are painted, and this quality of being handmade is quite apparent and an essential part of their character.

They are sometimes modelled from particular individuals, physically, or from memory. They could be an amalgam of him or others, but they are never professional models. The body of his compelling oeuvre represents a group of individuals, mostly men, who serve as everyday heroes of our everyday lives.

Their mental absentness could be described as melancholy, but somehow it places the focus on their appearance, leaving their inner world intriguing, as we become curious about whom they really are. Sean Henry is currently represented internationally. His work has found its way to many public and private collections.
