William Kennon is an American painter affiliated with the Galerie Albert Benamou in Paris and Hirschl and Adler Galleries in New York. He specializes in urban landscapes and his work though realistic and influenced by photography is organized around strongly formal designs. He received a master’s degree in art history from Columbia University and subsequently studied drawing and painting at the Art Student’s League of New York. Mr. Kennon has exhibited work at several New York venues including Hirschl and Adler Galleries, the National Arts Club, Lincoln Center, the Arts Student’s League, the Salmagundi Club, Washington Square East Galleries, and Westbeth Gallery as well as nationally at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio and the Arnot Art Museum in Elmira, New York. His work has won awards from the American Artists Professional League, Audubon Artists, the Salmagundi Club, the Art Student’s League, and Allied Artists of America. He has taught cityscape painting at the New York Academy of Art and currently teaches studio art and art history in New Jersey. Mr. Kennon is a member of Audubon Artists and the Allied Artists of America. His work is represented in collections in New York, Paris, London and Amsterdam
